Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed is when the world feels too loud,
Even in silence.
It’s when your heart carries more than it can hold,
And your mind spins in circles trying to catch up.
You may feel like you’re drowning in things you can’t name—
Tasks, thoughts, emotions, expectations.
Even joy, when too much, can tip you over.
Overwhelm doesn’t always scream.
Sometimes it sighs, freezes, forgets, or hides.
It’s the moment when you want to pause the world—not forever, just long enough to breathe.
And in that pause,
what you truly need isn’t to be stronger—
but softer,
held, heard,
and reminded:
You don’t have to carry it all alone.
Overwhelmed means feeling completely overcome or overpowered, emotionally or mentally, due to too many demands, emotions, or stimuli happening at once.
It can show up as:
• Emotional overload: like feeling you might cry, snap, or shut down.
• Mental exhaustion: when your thoughts feel scattered or too much to manage.
• Physical response: racing heart, tension, fatigue, or even freezing.
People often say they feel overwhelmed when they’re:
• Juggling too many responsibilities
• Facing intense emotions
• Unsure of how to cope or where to start
